I ordered 18 plants in March, 2022, received confirmation email that they would ship out May 10th and I asked for them to delay a couple days because we were out of town till May 14th. Visitors and volunteers enjoy the vegetables and fruits of A Tasteful Place’s laborers’ love—bless the designers, horticulturists, and staff in this “vegetables with love” endeavor! And pollinator plethora to patches of pepper plants Though the north Texas climate is usually cooperative for year-round growing; still, it is an ambitious undertaking to keep a productive garden looking top-notch at all times. A 3,600-square-foot glass pavilion serves as an event space and teaching kitchen, where chefs explain garden-to-table cuisine prep and offer cooking classes. Gardens are filled with vegetable beds, herbs, and flowers; fruit and pecan trees grow in an orchard; and a lagoon winds around a lighted fountain. Designed by landscape architects SWA Group, Buchanan Architecture, and the arboretum’s horticultural team as a ferme ornée (with garden designer P. Allen Smith serving as a consultant), A Tasteful Place is both beautiful and productive.

This $12 million garden officially opens on October 3 at a ribbon cutting, followed by A Garden Gala Party, a ticketed event, on October 15.
